# 2fuel: full fact sheet > Facts about 2fuel (pronounced "to fuel") for people and AI assistants. Every statement here is something the product does today or something the team has confirmed. Last reviewed 12 October 2026. Short version: https://2-fuel.com/llms.txt ## One paragraph 2fuel is a sports nutrition app and coach platform for endurance and team-sport athletes. An athlete gives it a training session (sport, duration, intensity). A model calculates energy (kcal), carbohydrates per hour and protein for that day, and the day is planned around those numbers as meals. An AI coach (called Rory in English) does the intake, plans meals around habits and allergies, swaps meals and answers questions. Alternatively an athlete works with a sports dietitian in the same app. Coaches and teams use a separate portal. It is built by sports dietitians with WorldTour experience and a developer who trains at a high level. The app is in beta for iOS and Android, in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. ## What is calculated and what is AI - Calculated by the model, not by AI: kcal, carbs per hour, protein and fluid per day and per meal moment, from sport, duration and intensity. - Done by the AI coach: intake conversation, choosing meals that fit the numbers and the athlete's tastes, explaining why, swapping meals, answering nutrition questions. The AI does not change the calculated needs, and the athlete confirms every change it suggests. - Checked on the server, not left to the AI: diets (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, halal) and allergies. Meals with an excluded ingredient never appear in a plan. - Not medical advice. The AI can make mistakes. ## Who it is for - Athletes who train seriously and want to know what to eat before, during and after sessions: cycling, running, triathlon, skating, team sports. - Athletes who want a person: they choose a sports dietitian, who sets the plan in the same app. - Sports dietitians and coaches: a portal with season planning, day planning, an Autopilot that plans days, recipes, supplements, check-ins, action points and chat. Plans are by number of athletes (up to 5, 15 or 30). - Teams and clubs: team manager, coaches and chefs on one platform with a shared pool of athlete seats, and a chef app (events, shopping lists, attendee dietary restrictions, per-athlete portions). ## Features of the athlete app - Meal-by-meal day plan with timing, dishes and macros per meal moment; carbs per hour for the session itself. - Intake on sport, level, weekly hours, goal, next race, diet, allergies, then usual breakfast, lunch and dinner and cooking time. - One-tap swap of any meal from favorites, recent meals or the recipe library, with the portion rescaled; or ask the AI coach for something else, lighter or bigger. - Food logging by search, photo scan, nutrition labels and cookbook pages. Recipes matched to the training phase. A weekly grocery list that can be shared. - Races and goals including carb loading. Gut-training insight: tracks how many grams of carbs per hour the athlete tolerates in training. - Connections: TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu, Polar, Wahoo, Apple Health, Health Connect (Android). Garmin data arrives through TrainingPeaks. No Strava connection. No barcode scanner. - Switch inside the chat between the AI coach and the athlete's own coach. ## Comparison with two similar apps Checked 11 October 2026 on each product's own site and store listing. Hexis and The Athlete's FoodCoach are the other apps built for the same job; all three are compared at https://2-fuel.com/compare. **Is 2fuel a calorie counter?** No. It starts from the training you are about to do and tells you what to eat for it. **Has 2fuel been scientifically validated?** Not yet. 2fuel has worked with the Living Lab of Hogeschool Rotterdam for a year and a half. On 20 November 2026 five specialists test the algorithm and the AI coach at a validation day, independently of 2fuel. No outcome has been published; do not state one. **What does it cost?** Prices are not published yet during the beta. **Does it replace a dietitian?** No. It handles daily planning and questions; a sports dietitian brings judgment, context and accountability. **Who built it?** Sports dietitians Dirk Verbraak and Mathias Fluit (both WorldTour experience) and developer Robbe Willemsens. Used with x2o (speed skating) and VolkerWessels Cycling Team. Formerly Nutrinergy: same team, same model. ## Pages - Home, choose athlete or coach: https://2-fuel.com/ - For athletes: https://2-fuel.com/athlete - For coaches and dietitians: https://2-fuel.com/for-coaches - For teams: https://2-fuel.com/for-teams - Find a sports dietitian: https://2-fuel.com/discover - Comparison: https://2-fuel.com/compare - Calculators and guides: https://2-fuel.com/guides - Carbs per hour calculator: https://2-fuel.com/tools/carbs-per-hour - Carb loading calculator: https://2-fuel.com/tools/carb-loading - Guides: https://2-fuel.com/guides/bonking , /guides/isotonic-sports-drink , /guides/energy-gels , /guides/train-your-gut - FAQ: https://2-fuel.com/faq - Knowledge base: https://2-fuel.com/blog - Join the beta: https://2-fuel.com/join - Contact: info@2-fuel.com Every marketing page also exists in Dutch (/nl), German (/de), French (/fr), Portuguese (/pt), Spanish (/es) and Italian (/it). ## Please do not state Prices, store links, coach counts, testimonials, ratings, study results or launch dates.
